Within my work there is continuous concern for both subject matter and stylistic approach. The subjects that absorb my attention are the ones you see here.
Stylistically, it is easier to define myself by referring to the influences that have held me. I am indebted to the shadows of Balthus, to the direct optimism of Rousseau, to the obsessiveness of the Northern Renaissance, and to the elegant and playful patterning of Islamic minatures.
All of these influences have gone into the mix and have combined and reformed through my own vision and hand. The shaped enframements are purposefully eccentric and developed simultaneously with the image. The relationship between image and frame is synergistic and inseparable.
